Smocking

Dresses 023

This is the booties and bonnet that went with the dress. My first attempt at the bonnet turned out looking like a cone. I didn’t read the instructions very well.

Bargello smocking is like picture smocking. It also uses a lot of floss. I like the way it looks and am happy with the outcome.

Dresses 017

I loved this print, but there was on 2 1/4 yards left at the store, so I had to make the pattern fit the fabric. I chose Chery Williams back wrap (again).

Dresses 016

Just a close up. I won first in the county fair and second in the state fair with this dress

Dresses 015

This was a kit from AS&E. I used Chery Williams back wrap instead of the pattern used in AS&E

Dresses 013

This is Chery Williams bishop. I loved the tiny print and used only one color floss.

Dresses 014

I’m not sure of the plate name, but I think it was Mary’s Bishop. Becaue it is one color, I’ve used it several times.

Dresses 010

I used a plate from The Smocking Horse. It was a cross-over design and used only two floss colors. I selected red and purple

Dresses 012

I loved this tiny print, but had a difficult time selecting a floss color. It was a UFO until I made myself pick a floss and finish it. I think the floss may be too dark.
