I have a Janome 4900QC. I also have a Bernina 131, but it doesn’t do as much, and it cost almost as much!! My machine has an automatic needle threader, which is a must with my maturing eyesight; I simply cannot thread needles, anymore. I have the misfortune of having been born farsighted, and farsightedness only gets worse once you hit middle-age!! It comes with a knee-lift for the presser foot, but I don’t even use it because my leg is too short to reach it. My hubby has promised to make me a block to lift it up so I can use it but hasn’t gotten around to it, yet. It took me over a year to decide on a new machine once I decided I wanted more “bells and whistles,” and I decided on the Janome because I could get more for my money. Being a teacher, I don’t exactly make the big bucks, so price was definitely an issue, although I would have spent more if I felt I must.
