Me again….hard to condence a long story. We’ve been through the castle at Edinburgh, Royal Mile, and Holyroad House at the other end. Robert Burns park, Princess Street, lots of walking….did we pass each other? We also toured Waterford Crystal factory (didn’t buy any)… didn’t kiss the Blarney Stone either, but watched other people do it, not about to hang over the edge on my back and have someone hold onto my ankles while I put my lips where a jillion other lips have been…NO WAY. Ring of Kerry and Galway Bay and Carnaberra Marble Factory…we drove in Ireland and made the mistake of taking the car into Northern Ireland….they are still fighting the war there and we ran into two bomb scares. We stayed in bed and breakfast homes, most meals at a pub. Very Friendly people. Bought yarn the first time in Galway, disaster (another story), bought the already knitted sweaters another trip. We usually hurry through the first time anywhere we go, then know where we want to spend more time at the second trip. I got to drive one mile in Ireland, Dale couldn’t stand it because there was a stone vine covered wall on his side and the vines kept hitting the car. Did you visit the town of “Lay By”? A funny story about that one. Hard to pick a favorite thing I saw….one of the top ones was the King Tut traveling exhibit in New Orleans…we stood in line for hours, then sit in a tent before we could get in…..I couldn’t get over the gold and detail of the tinest little things…fingernails on a two inch figure ! I get goose bumps just thinking of how the guy felt that uncovered them and saw that for the first time. A close second: Nothern England where James Harriot (pen name) worked treating farmer’s animals as a new vet before tractors. He wrote a set of books plus a few others based on true people and events. The first in a set of four is, “All Creatures Great and Small”. To see places he wrote about etc., the moors are beautiful, such pretty country. There was television series made about his books…we have both sets and watch over and over. I think we need a section for travels, I’m sure everyone here has a story to share. I hate to bore everyone, guess they could skip over though.
