Let’s say I want to make an A-line, such as New Look 6504. It has a facing around the neck and buttoned shoulders. Rather than use a facing, could I just cut a lining the same size as the jumper, sew the neck and armholes, and hem separately? Should I tack it to the side seams near the hem or anything? I have gobs of chenille (found it while cleaning my sewing room!) and would love to make a bit of it into jumpers with broadcloth linings (so as to not grab onto tights so much)._________________
