Lainey pink with ecru lace is lovely, antique things used ecru lace with white fabric too and I like that. To guest.. those special scissors are perfect for appliques, even in the hoop as the handles are bent . I would not buy them unless you do a lot of close trimming, but short 6 or 7 inch (even embroidery) scissors work well, just go slow and be very careful! Betty_________________
