I weighed in this morning too. I haven’t weighed myself in a couple of months and had fun putting it on, but now it’s time to take it back off.I’m weighing in every Wed. I’ll post my weight loss and totals.

I am trying to drink the dreaded water. Supposed to be really good for you and flush out your system and increase your metabolism. Don’t like water

Good luck ladies, I need to start soon but first I have to get all the junk out of the house and all of the good stuff in. I don’t like to weight and I don’t have a scale at home. I’ll track my progress with body measurements. I’ll try to weight on the ups scale at work if no one is looking.

I registered for the national body challenge on discoveryhealth.com. They have daily menu plans and over 1000 recipes and its free.

Has anyone done weight watchers?I go back and forth with this one- Im not the kind of person who would go to the meetings- no confidence AT ALL!And I dont know about the online option- I know all that I have to do is eat better and exercise but I have no patience with slow results and I need to work on this- As far as drinking water- blah!! I try to put some lemon juice in the water to give it some flavor- I know this also helps with fluid retention???

If I had a SONIC ice machine that I could bring everywhere with me I probably wouldnt need to eat food! Ive even tried buying bags of ice there and putting it in my freezer- but it dosent stay ‘crushed’- it clumps together and freezes in big solid hunks

myra I’m planning to do the WW plan too, it is the only one flexible enough to work with my family of 5 without making me feel like the lone ranger. I am also in the mist of perging the house and restocking the healthy stuff. I love the ww online simply for the recipe builder and the recipes and all the other ideas and opinions of fellow watchers, but it isn’t for everybody…… Good luck everyone!

I haven’t done weight watchers, but know others that have. They really liked the program. I think there is an online place you can join for those that can’t go to meetings. The support is what is so important.

Good Luck to all of you! I started on a new eating plan on the 1st. also. I hope to lose the dreaded weight I have gained in the last 2 years but more importantly, I hope to be healthier and feel better. I know it’s kind of wierd but I gained my weight by not eating and now I have to! I’m on day 4 and drinking 64 oz’s of water a day. Uck !!! I also have been walking for 15 minutes morning and evening on my treadmill. Everyone I have ever know that has gone to WeightWatchers has been successful. But everyone says your success is multiplied threefold if you go to the meetings. Organized meetings and being accountable seem to be the key to success.

I have been meaning to check out the Discovery Channel site also! DD says it’s really nice!!

I weighed at daughters on Tuesday, and will be back at her house on the 20th. Thought I had lost more weight than I had, but is was a ‘little’. Hope next weigh-in is better. Came home and asked dh what happened to the candy in the candy dishes? “I threw it out!”, I said “couldn’t leave it alone?” His answer “Yup”. So guess he’s helping me. My weakness is the sweets. Count me in. I weighed myself this morning–212. I’d like to say I want to lose 50 pounds, but I’m going to be happy if I can hit 199. We bought an eliptical trainer. My BIL is a physician and he said for weight loss programs it’s Weight Watchers to go with and an eliptical trainer for exercise. I’ll skip the WW, but will give the trainer a try. I think I’ll try out the discovery channel program also.

Sooooo I weighed in for the first time in a few months and it wasn’t as bad as I thought!

To be really a good size for me, I should lose about 30 pounds. That said, I won’t worry about a number – I’m thinkin’ if I can get into size 10 trousers I’ll be good to go! I was an 8 pre-kids, and I’m allowing an extra size for childbearing and AGE.

I think I need a scale! Everyone told me that I would be able to tell by my clothes when I lost weight. I think I need to know now if all of this that I’m doing is doing any good at all! Anyone have any suggestions as to what kind of scale I should buy?

I have a tanita scale. It has the bodyfat thing on it, but I don’t pay any attention to it, don’t think it’s very acurate.I would suggest getting a scale that weighs in .2 lbs increments. Just losing .2 or .4 looks better then a scale that weighs in 1lb increments where you would think that you lost nothing. It’s a psych thing for me. I have to get my head right to lose weight.

I’m weighing myself everyday. Today I’m up .4 but tomorrow I could be down .6.
