HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Our big dinner day will be on Friday. DD is working today, but has tomorrow off – it just works out better for everyone to do it tomorrow. I am very thankful to be able to have our kids home for dinner all together! We did eat with our friends this afternoon and had a great meal! I have a pumpkin pie in the oven now and will make a granny smith apple pie next. We are going to deep fry a whole turkey, then I am fix’in sweet potato casserole, loaded baked potatoes, green beans from the garden that I canned, corn, cranberry salad, tossed salad, banana nut bread, relishes and hmmmm, maybe that is enough…LOL! The kids all love leftovers from big dinners like this, so all the extra food will be sent home with them…LOL! I felt bad for my parents today, as they were spose to travel to my sister in law’s mother’s house to have dinner with my brother, sister in law, niece and sis-in-law’s mom. They got a couple miles from home and turned around and went back home – they were driving in thick wet snow with 4″ of new snow on the ground and hanging in the branches – said it was like a picture post card, but not a good idea to be out traveling in it – especially when they were going several hours from home. I told my mom that they made a good decision to turn around and head back home. I think my mom scrapped up something for their dinner as they sat next to a warm fire in the fireplace looking out at it snowing! Hate it that they are alone, but better safe than sorry! Well, I need to get at my pies – have a great evening!!
